Movie Buff to Book Collector
In today's culture, it seems that movies are main-stream and books are on the back burner. People flock to movie premieres while virtually ignoring book gathering and signings. For many movie enthusiasts, becoming a book collector is far from being on their "bucket list" in life, but you never know how one passion may turn into another. Take me for instance; I may not be willing to shell out big bucks for the rare book on the history of World War II, but, as a die-hard Audrey Hepburn fan, would love to get my hands on a signed first edition Breakfast at Tiffany's. Being a book collector isn't about having the most expensive or rarest books (although they can be). Book collecting is all about the love of books and your collection should reflect your own interests. You will never be disappointed if you collect books you enjoy reading or that have meant something in your life. While some may find the complete history of World War II riveting, you will more than likely find me in the literature section drooling over a Jane Austen collection or Stephenie Meyers' new release. From The Grapes of Wrath to the Godfather and everything in between, there is something for everyone. Be sure to check out our next blog on the book/movie connection and the value factor!
Check out the shot of Mike's pick, "The Man who Broke 1,000 Chains." A great book and social commentary on early 20th century prison life as well as a great film starring Val Kilmer (in HIS opinion of course...)
You can guess which book I picked...
