Just returned from an exciting trip to England, and had a wonderful opportunity to meet Martin Frost. Many of you probably are familiar with Martin’s life work as a bookedge painter, miniaturist, bookbinder and illuminator. He generously shared some of his fore-edge secrets with me. One of the most amazing fore-edge paintings that he showed me was one about the size of your thumb! We had lunch and lots of laughs and shared our respective interest in painting the page edges of books. Martin truly is a very talented and humble man and I enjoying spending time with him in his home. Here are a couple of photos of us in Martin’s library.
See you all next week with more about fore-edge painting, and one of the newest available at Yeoman’s in the Fork—Saint Teresa of Ávila painted on the Ignatius Catholic Bible.
Yeoman's in the Fork would like to sincerely thank Mr. Frost for the use of his photo and time.
