This past weekend Yeoman's hit the road on a fact finding MISSION to the 19th Annual Military 'Show of Shows' in Louisville, KY. This yearly show is bound to be the largest show of its kind on earth as it boasts over 1500, 8 foot tables with dealers from around the globe. The focus of this show has really developed over the years into WWII memorabilia, but items from almost every major war in American history can be found in this one room. This year was interesting for us as we attended the show with no intention to really buy and/or sell anything... We were on the hunt for information on a few pieces (actual artifacts and not books and/or documents) that we have picked up over the course of the past few years. While we were successful, I had not planned to blog about the visit to the Kentucky Exhibition Center in Louisville like I am now doing... It is safe to say that the show blew me away, although not with the material that we are known for selling. There were jeeps, motorcycles, dress uniforms, flags, folding bikes, candles and almost anything else you can imagine for sale here. All of these items were in some fashion connected to battle, the displays were just fabulous and the signing guests (mainly WWII veterans) were entertaining as well. Not sure if this show is our cup of tea, but it was great to see and is for sure a place to visit if WWII pieces are anywhere in your scope of collecting...
