I have discovered the harder I work on a project the less effective I am. The best results in creating a fore-edge painting are those that seem effortless. How is that?
There are some basic rules in life that work for everything—do what you love and work becomes play and feels effortless. When work becomes a struggle, something is amiss.
When I first started painting on the fore-edges of books, I would think what should this painting be? Now I think what is waiting to be manifested. Anytime anyone is creating anything—and we are all creative beings-- it has to flow, it has to extend from within and not from without.
Painting the fore-edges on a book requires very careful planning as there is no room for error. Therefore, it is so important to create what you love, or else the mere thought of an error will hamper the process.
This process can be applied to other aspects of our life. Do what you love, forget about making mistakes, after all, we all make mistakes anyway. That’s how we learn. And go with flow and watch how effortless your life becomes.
