Thanks so much to Timothy Johnson and James Crutchfield for coming out to celebrate the nation's independence with a few 'bookish' folk in Leiper's Fork! Our little village was bulging with visitors this weekend. I want to send out a special 'thank you' to all of the media outlets that came out in support of our efforts. Opening a store that's sole purpose is to purvey the written word is no easy task in this new digital age. Although our rare book inventory tends to separate us from the likes of Barnes and Noble etc..., we are still all about the actual book that is printed on paper (and/or any other surface used to scribble on over the centuries). Only with the help of our loyal collectors, fans, friends and media outlets do we have a chance at keeping our last bastion afloat in the ever-growing 'Battle for the Book.' HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA AND THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT SUMMER SEASON OF PASSING ON THE PIECES OF THE PAST THAT WE HOLD SO DEAR!!
