Document that is signed on the back by Marinus Willett. Willett is serving as Sheriff of New York City and signs the back of this document requesting that he bring "James Hawkins" before the Mayor of the City during the next Court date to answer charges brought by a "William Alexander" concerning sixty pounds of damage done to property. Dated October 6th, 1786.

Document has tape applied in middle crease. Chipped on the ends and toning. Minor separation at folds. Seal is intact. Measures about 13 x 4 inches.

Marinus Willett was an important American leader during the Revolutionary War and was a member of the Sons of Liberty. Willett was also later the Mayor of New York City himself!
